July 2023: Defra launches a raft of consultations

The UK Government has today set out further steps to deliver a thriving, sustainable fishing industry and healthy marine environment for generations to come.

This new system will be underpinned by Fisheries Management Plans (FMP) za– blueprints for how best to manage fish stocks – with the first six published today, including bass, king scallops, crab and lobster.

The government has launched a raft of consultations relating to these proposed FMP
