The European Commission has published the 2019 fishing opportunities for certain fish stocks in Union waters. This brings into law the regulations for the commercial and recreational harvest of bass in 2019.

The impact on commercial fishing (outlined in Article 10) can be complicated. Please contact us or the MMO for an explanation.
The impact on recreational fishing is as follows.
1 January - 31 March 2019: Catch and release only
1 April - 31 October 2019: One fish bag limit. You may not retain more than one specimen of sea bass each per day (00:00 to 23:59 hours)
1 November - 31 December 2019: Catch and release only
Minimum size: The minimum size for bass remains at 42cm
