Cornwall IFCA would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of William Hocking, from Looe, who died on 4 April 2020. Bill Hocking was well known to the fishing community across Cornwall and was a long-serving member of the South Western Fish Producers Organisation, as well as being a member of Cornwall Sea Fisheries Committee for many years.
Bill is remembered as a man of great integrity and an early advocate of improving gear selectivity for the conservation and sustainability of fish stocks.
Because of the current Coronavirus situation there will not be a public service, but his family has asked that anyone wishing to mark his life could make a donation to the Fishermen’s Mission.
